I'm so sad that I can't be there in person to tell you all the many reasons that I love you; hearing your "I love you's" to me on my birthday have always made it pretty special and I wish I could do the same for you.
Well, I love you because of your tender spirit. Dave and I were just teaching some investigators and I relayed to them an experience I had with you when I was much younger. Just you and I had driven to the grocery store and we'd decided to race from the car into the store and you said something sarcastic like, "I killed you!" But an hour later, I remember you stopping in the middle of what we were doing, looking at my eyes and saying sorry for making that previous comment. I honestly had forgotten what the comment had been, but the memory of your humble and meek heart stuck with me. You are a great example of being sensitive to the spirit so as to follow little promptings that have changed your nature. You truly are becoming more and more like the Savior and what a blessing it is to have your example in my life! I also love your desire to learn. I think this comes with a humble heart, but your drive to continued education in both the scriptures and every other aspect of life inspires me. I love your ability to laugh, to inwardly feel love for others and outwardly show that love to others. I love the habits that you encouraged each of us to develop throughout life - (daily scripture reading, morning and evening family prayer, work ethic; in and outside of the home, daily exercise). The list goes on, but I just realized that all these things you have taught us are all about being balanced and consistent. This is exactly who and what you are and I would truly be honored to be half the person you are! I love you and hope you have a wonderful birthday! You are the greatest!!!
Love Karla
